Tutorial IV: Camp Concert Hall

Home | Tutorials

  1. Floor Mics
    1. On the stage in Camp Concert Hall there are 20 mic inputs.
    2. The Camp power must be turned on. The amp is locked in a closet and Bill needs to turn it on.
    3. Downstage (near the audience) there are three black boxes in the floor (1st picture).

      1. Stage right 1-4
      2. Center Stage 5-8
      3. Stage left 9-12
    4. On the wall, upstage, behind the curtain are 8 more inputs (2nd picture).

      1. Stage right 13-16
      2. Stage left 17-20
      3. (All the mic inputs are labeled with numbers)
    5. These go to the sound booth in back of Camp and also to the Project Studio.
    6. The mics come in on the patchbay on channels 25-48 on the right side of the first patchbay.
    7. They are labeled on the patchbay as Camp Stage Floor Lines 1-24.
    8. (21-24 are not hooked up - just ignore them)
    9. The first mic input of each grouping of 4 already has phantom power distributed to it:
    10. Channels 1, 5, 9, 13, 17 (Patchbay # 25, 29, 33, 37, 41)
Some mics need phantom power, some don't, and some older mics will be ruined if phantom power is distributed to them. Be cautious.
      1. You can then patch them to any channel on the O2R board.
  2. Camp Snake
    1. Off stage right, there is a snake that has 8 mic inputs and 4 quarter inch inputs.

    2. 8 mics - The easiest way to get signal from Camp to the PS.
      1. These 8 inputs come in directly on channels 1-8 on the O2R board.
      2. All of the A/B Switches must be on A.
      3. Everything in the Digital I/O screen 2/5 must be on INT ANALOG.
      4. If the mic requires phantom power, turn the phantom power on.
      5. If you were doing a multi-track recording, you'd then route the channels to the DA-88.
    3. Quarter inch inputs
      1. These four come into the patchbay and are labeled Camp Returns (bottom panel, right side)
      2. These are mainly used for sending signal back into camp.
      3. The quarter inch inputs can then be hooked up to monitors, etc...
